I. Introduction to the department
The Otolaryngology department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University of Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive department integrating medical treatment, scientific research and teaching。After years of hard work, the department of Otolaryngology has developed into a professional department with the characteristics of integrated Chinese and Western medicine and key specialized diseases。现已成为国家中医药管理局“十二五”重点学科、重点专科建设单位； 云南省中医Ear, nose and throat继教项目培训基地；云南省中医住院医师规范化培训基地。
The department has formed a system in the research of rhinopathy, allergic disease, throat disease, tinnitus and deafness。The department has formed a reasonable academic team in terms of age, title and educational structure. There are 2 professors (all of whom are famous Chinese medicine in Yunnan Province), 4 associate professors, 4 lecturers, 2 doctoral degrees, 5 master's degrees, and 5 master's supervisors。The Department is a professional point of national new drug clinical trials approved by the State Food and Drug Administration, and has participated in more than 20 national new drug phase II and Phase III clinical observations。Otolaryngology of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Otolaryngology of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine have become the main disciplines of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with stable research direction and distinctive characteristics。

Endoscopic examination, treatment and operation of ear, nose and throat;② Nasopharyngeal fiberscopy and bronchofiberscopy and operation ③ audiological examination such as electrical audiometry and acoustic immanence;④ Low temperature plasma radiofrequency treatment of chronic hypertrophic rhinitis, chronic pharyngitis, etc。
Iv. Scope of operation:
■ Nose: Operation for sinusitis and nasal polyps: endoscopic operation for maxillary sinus, ethmoid sinus, sphenoid sinus and frontal sinus;Nasal dilatation: septum correction, middle and lower turbinectomy;Nasal and sinus tumor surgery: nasal papilloma, fibroangioma resection;Low temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation。
■ Throat: tonsillectomy;Endoscopic adenoid resection in children;Snoring surgery: (H-UPPP), low temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation;Excision of vocal nodules and vocal polyps;Laryngeal benign tumor excision, etc。
■ Ear: preauricular fistula resection;Auricle deformity correction;External auditory canal tumor: external auditory canal cholesteatoma, fibroosteoma excision;Tympanic puncture catheterization;Tympanic membrane repair。
■ Head and neck: branchial cleft fistula resection;Thyroglossal duct cyst resection;Tracheotomy;Parotid gland mixed tumor excision;Excision of cervical benign tumor。
